This week I’ll meet a new batch of college students—about 80 young adults over my four classes—whom I'll teach throughout the semester. After not teaching in person for nearly 18 months, I’m feeling that establishing an early bond with my students is more important than ever.

So how do we establish a connection? I've been thinking about how I want to present myself and my courses. I want to show the students I’m committed to helping them learn and that I’m approachable so that they’ll feel encouraged to come to office hours. In doing so, I want to demonstrate kindness and vulnerability to help foster these qualities in them.

When we invest in our relationships with others, we sow the seeds, demonstrating our belief in a flourishing future.

Sunday Journal Prompt

What seeds are you planting? What can you do to help ensure a flourishing future?
